MARTIN GARDNER 1914-2010
Martin Gardner died Saturday, May 29, in Oklahoma. From the 50's until 1981 he wrote the Mathematical Games column in Scientific American. He also wrote many books and collections of games and puzzles, including The Colossal Book of Mathematics:
Classic Puzzles, Paradoxes, and Problems: Number Theory, Algebra, Geometry, Probability, Topology, Game Theory, Infinity, and Other Topics of Recreational Mathematics. Some of his puzzles and games as well as some influenced by him can be found at Puzzle Playground and Numericana. He also published The Annotated Alice: The Definitive Edition.
