KATY KEENE IS BACK!

Long ago when comic books were comic books, Archie Comics were among the most popular--and they still are today. Archie has been around since 1941. But my favorite comic book character from the 50's was Katy Keene, starlet and model. I don't remember any of the stories, but I remember the Fashions. Readers could design their own outfits for Katy and she would wear them in the comic book, with the designer name acknowledged. Now, I actually never sent any designs in, but I did try my hand at drawing some outfits.

The character is coming back in her own new comic and, once again, readers are being asked to submit their own designs for the character to wear. Aspiring fashion designers should check it out.

Although the Elk Grove Library doesn't have any Katy Keene titles, there are a few Archie and/or friends items available:

Betty & Veronica Summer Fun (YA 741.5 ARC)
Monster Pack (J HOLIDAY DVD MONS )
Archie & the Riverdale Vampires (J HOLIDAY VHS ARCH)
