PAUL NEWMAN 1925-2008

Noted film actor Paul Newman died Friday after a long struggle with cancer. Some of his most memorable roles were in the films Hud, The Long Hot Summer, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Hustler, and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, among many others. Some of these films are available at the Elk Grove Village Public Library.

RECALLING SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

Today we remember the terrible events that occured 7 years ago in New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. Memorial services were held today in those locations and in other places across the nation and overseas. Several memorials for the victims of that day's attacks were also dedicated this month, including the Pentagon memorial today, and the memorial at Boston's Logan Airport.
