On April 16 the 2007 winners of the various Pulitzer Prizes were announced. The winners in the category of Letters, Drama, and Music included:
Fiction--The Road by Cormac McCarthy (FIC MCCARTHY, C.)
Drama--The Rabbit Hole by David Lindsay-Abaire
History--The Race Beat: The Press, the Civil Rights Struggle, and the Awakening of a Nation by Gene Roberts and Hank Klibanoff
Biography--The Most Famous Man in America: The Biography of Henry Ward Beecher by Debby Applegate (BIO BEECHER, H.)
Poetry--Native Guard by Natasha Trethewey
General Nonfiction--The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11 by Lawrence Wright (973.931 WRI)
Music--Sound Grammar by Ornette Coleman
Special Citations were given to Ray Bradbury and John Coltrane (posthumously) for their body of work.
