PARTIAL SOLAR ECLIPSE
There is a partial solar eclipse, today, in the late afternoon--but not for us; only the South and Southeast will get to see it if at all. The NASA map shows the cut off line well below our part of the state. Sky and Telescope has an article with pictures of how the eclipse will look in different countries. It is described as an "annular hybrid" type of eclipse. The different kinds of eclipses are described on Africa Eclipse's "Types of Solar Eclipses". Mr. Eclipse.com has a good article for beginners. The University of Texas' Stardate radio program discussed the eclipse on April 7.
